9. John Slattery Is Reprising His Role As Howard Stark
Iron Man 2 was certainly one of Marvels weaker films, but it introduced audiences to SHIELD, Black Widow, Nick Fury and laid the groundwork for the Avengers. In the movie John Slattery starred in grainy old video footage as Tony Starks genius father, Howard Stark. Taking hues from Walt Disney, the character gave Tony an insight into his vision for the future and helped the embattled hero to cure his arc reactor issues. Slatterys portrayal of Howard Stark was brilliant; he wasnt as arrogant or egotisitical as Dominic Coopers portrayal in Captain America: The First Avenger, and the character was shown to have his heart in the right place. Thankfully, he will be returning in Ant-Man, presumably with flashbacks involving Michael Douglas Hank Pym. That will give Slattery the chance to show audiences this mature and grown up incarnation of Iron Mans father - given that many people fear that the film will struggle to connect itself to the wider world, this decision could help to anchor the film within the MCU.
