That's definitely a good thing, especially in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For the most part, casting the big heroes has involved going for big name stars: Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, and so on. In the those cases, that makes sense for their characters. After all, the team that makes up the Avengers are supposed to be these iconic, recognisable faces. They're celebrities, they work on a global scale. Plus, before the Marvel films some of those characters weren't as well-known, so they needed that IRL star power to get the punters in. Spider-Man, meanwhile, is a character audiences love. He's also a very different character to the rest of the MCU's heroes so far. He's halfway between the Avengers and Daredevil (Charlie Cox isn't that famous, either), often a street-level vigilante as much as a world-saving one. In that case, Holland hits that sweet spot between being recognisable like Cox but not a mega-star like Scarlett Johansson.
