10 Reasons We Still Love Pixar

2. WALL-E

Personally, my favorite of all PIXAR films is the story of the robot WALL-E, or Waste Allocation Load Lifter - Earth class. This film combined everything that's great about movie going: story, action, love, and even science fiction. I found myself lost in the first half of this film, which contains no dialogue and follows WALL-E as he continues to do his work on a planet left behind by the humans have destroyed it in their excess. While watching this part of the film, I actually forgot I was watching a movie, and became so immersed in the world PIXAR had created that reality was long gone. And true to form, the film also has a love story, between robots no less, that also tugs at the heart strings. Released in 2008, the film went on to gross nearly $550 million dollars worldwide, and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2009.
