10 Reasons Why Indiana Jones 4 Isn’t All That Bad

1. Harrison Ford

Considering the unthinkable casting choices that Lucas made in the Star Wars prequels, and that Harrison Ford was 64 when production finally started, you€™d have thought that Lucas and Spielberg would have been tempted to go with another actor. You could even speculate that, had River Phoenix not died, he would have been around the right age to play Indy for a story set around the same time as Last Crusade. But even if he€™s greyer and a little grumpier now, the fact is this: Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones, and the film just wouldn€™t work without him. Much like Sean Connery, you can tell whether Ford is genuinely interested in being there from his performance €“ and in this case, he€™s clearly enjoying himself. The comic timing is still there, the stunts are still painfully physical, and the testosterone level is still through the roof. While he€™ll never be as quick or as lithe as the first three films, he€™s still the same character, part-romantic, part-cynic, all-man and loads of fun. --- Still not convinced?
