7. Ellen Brody Is A Psychic
Not content with ruining all the plot points of the last film and trivializing the shark itself, the producers decided the best thing to do with the otherwise boring Ellen Brody character would be to make her a psychic. She has hallucinations and nightmares of the shark and can sense when Michael is attacked, as if she and the shark share some weird link. And that's not the worst. The sepia toned flashbacks of her late husband uttering the iconic line "Smile you son of a bitch!" is either a nice touch or a throwback too far depending on which way you look at it, but either way, it is nonsensical. Ellen Brody was safe on the land at that point, many miles away. How can she be having flashbacks of an event she wasn't there for? There's only one conclusion: Ms Brody is indeed a psychic with a close link to sharks. Maybe that helps explain the next point...
