10 Reasons Why Mad Max: Fury Road Beats Furious 7

9. Absolutely Incredible Cinematography

It's fair to say that as far as big budget blockbusters go, Furious 7 certainly looked the part, even if it was in that MTV-style music video way which blockbusters often do, replete with cool shots of the main characters walking in slow motion as chaos unfolds around them. With cinematography legend John Seale brought out of retirement, Furious 7 was never going to stand a chance going up against Fury Road in the visual department. It's as if the veteran DOP was eager to get back to the deserts he'd so lovingly photographed in The English Patient and relished in tearing it up, and the glaring saturated landscapes are impressively vivid (at least in the 2D version). Miller has said that he deliberately chose a vibrant colour palette, prefering to do something different to the muted greys and browns usually associated with post-apocalyptic cinema. The results are stunning.
