Marvel seemed to have their release schedule set in stone, planning out every movie from now until 2020, but a recent announcement surprised us all by throwing a solo Spider-Man film and an Ant-Man sequel into the mix, all in conjunction with three new mystery films. While everyone is still speculating about what these new additions could mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, what fascinated us most is how Ant-Man and the Wasp are now officially a crime-fighting duo. The pairing of Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne could pave the way for more duos to lead films together, and who could possibly be better candidates than Black Widow and Hawkeye? The two former spies have a long history together that has only been hinted at in the past and Johansson has fantastic onscreen chemistry with Jeremy Renner. Throwing both of these heroes together into the spotlight would reduce any trepidation that Marvel may feel about granting either character their own solo pictures and it certainly wouldn't hurt to combine their separate fan bases into one. More and more supporting characters are appearing with each film release, so the likelihood that Black Widow or Hawkeye will be granted their own solo movies is looking less and less probable. Marvel Studios could make a lot of fan boy dreams come true by granting Natasha and Hawkeye a joint feature instead, killing two birds with one stone. Do you think Black Widow will ever star in her own solo movie? Why hasn't it happened already? And would you rather watch Natasha star in a Netflix series?
