10 Reasons Why Marvel Will Never Make A Solo Black Widow Film

2. Black Widow Would Work Better On TV

When Marvel first announced that they would be creating TV shows in collaboration with Netflix, the response was mixed to say the least, but as soon as Daredevil made its debut, it became clear that the two companies were a perfect match for one another. Those who initially argued that the Man Without Fear deserved another shot on the big screen soon realised that the serial format is a far more effective method of exploring vigilantism in a way better suited for adult consumption. And Daredevil and Black Widow are far more similar than movie fans may initially realise, sharing a comic book and even a relationship for a number of years, so why restrict a solo venture of hers to just two hours when Natasha could be the star of her own series? Marvel have already scheduled three more Netflix shows to follow Daredevil, all of which will combine into a team effort known as The Defenders at a later date, but it's doubtful that the studio will end their collaboration there. The serial format would be an ideal way to explore Black Widow's shady past, providing the writers with more scope to flesh out her identity without the restrictions of blockbuster filmmaking.
