2. Not Enough Arnie
The same can be said of Arnold Schwarzenegger's contribution to The Expendables 2; though he is clearly having a lot of fun during his few scenes throughout the film, more was expected than 10 minutes of screen time (compared to his sub-three minutes in the first film). Again, though Arnie is given a lot of the best jokes, and is enthusiastically lauded as probably the most badass of the group - even taking Terry Crewes' trusty AA-12 for his own - he disappears after the opening action scene, and isn't seen again until he drives a giant mechanical drill into a mine to help the Expendables - who have been captured and trapped down there by Vilain - escape. Admittedly, the brevity of his tenure in this second film is partly redeemed by his activity in the final action scene, quite literally riding shotgun in Bruce Willis' diminutive car, firing Crewes' AA-12 at countless cronies, who explode into clouds of pink mist. Still, there was the hope that, combined with the addition of an extra action scene to break up the padding in the middle, he might've been given a little more to do, especially considering how the film was touted as his return to action films.
