10 Reasons Why The Muppet Christmas Carol Is The Best Christmas Movie

8. The Music

Some wonderful songwriting blesses The Muppet Christmas Carol throughout its run time. The musical numbers each bring something different to the film, be it the pantomime but chilling duet of the Marley brothers or the tear-jerking table sing-a-long started by Tiny Tim.

Few people who grew up with the Muppets' festive classic will have forgotten the lyrics of 'Scrooge' or 'One More Sleep 'til Christmas' in a hurry. Even when the story dips towards being more sincere, the spirited music keeps most of the film feeling light, enjoyable and magical. Each one of the musical numbers is a toe-tapping, head-swaying, sing-a-long wonder that can bring a whole room together. They also unify the characters, with both humans and Muppets relishing in outbursts of festive vocal harmony.

Each of the Muppets bring different tones, tempos and themes that make this soundtrack an incredibly varied one, with something for everyone. Even Michael Caine, who is not by nature a singing performer, gives it a spirited go and the end result really befits the rest of his character.

Beyond any doubt, The Muppet Christmas Carol's soundtrack makes for great entertainment, the spirit of Christmas resonating with every note.
