10 Reasons Why You Must Watch Pacific Rim

8. The Amazing Soundtrack

Within the first few minutes of Pacific Rim, composer Ramin Djawadi pulls you in with one of the most electrifying and exciting opening scores of the summer. Known for his incredible work on the Iron Man movies, and HBO€™s Game of Thrones, Djawadi sets the tone of the film with an opener like no other. Infused with some sweet guitar riffs, Djawadi€™s composed soundtrack delightfully captures the feel of an epic monster movie. Powerful melodies are rife throughout, with plenty of musical homages towards Kaiju monster movies of yesteryear. The soundtrack weaves perfectly alongside the different themes in the movie, and the main track €˜Pacific Rim€™ is utilised in various other songs throughout the score. It€™s calm and bombastic when it needs to be, and that€™s evident with tracks such as €˜Mako€™, and €˜Category 5€™. Mako is especially a sombre tune, which heavily accentuates the emotions in the specific scene. Djawadi arguably provides one of the best soundtracks of the year, by delivering the perfect music for such an epic blockbuster. The full soundtrack is readily available online, with some of the stand-out songs being €˜Pacific Rim€™, and €˜Go Big or Go Extinct€™. Go seek it out, and brace yourselves for some fitting music for such a gargantuan movie.
