Having a great story didn't mean that the film was lacking in terms of action though. At the start of the film Peter was being picked up by Harry Osborn on a new glider, leading to an aerial action sequence showcasing Spider-Mans agility. This was followed by a multitude of memorable action scenes; black Spider-Man fighting Sandman in the sewers, his subsequent ruthless crusade against street crime and the construction site showdown at the end. These sequences were choreographed exceptionally well, and they demonstrated exactly why Spider-Man is one of Marvels most popular characters. The acrobatic style and the way in which he leaves wrongdoers webbed up to lamppost and walls has translated onto screen extremely well. In the battles with bigger foes he used innovative thinking to defeat the villains. These sequences were well thought out and helped to ensure the film didn't fail to get your heart raging despite its complicated plot; it managed to keep a balance where the story drove the action and the action complimented the story.
