10 Recent Horror Movie Deaths Nobody Saw Coming

Now in fairness, the Terrifier movies are extremely mean-spirited, no-holds-barred horror films where almost no victim is off limits - not even children, as the recent third film proves beyond any doubt.

All the same, many were left agape when, in the threequel's climax, hero Sienna (Lauren LaVera) is told that her younger brother Jonathan (Elliott Fullam) is dead. More to the point, she's informed that the skull she initially believed to belong to her niece Gabbie (Antonella Rose) is actually that of Jonathan.

It's a genuine surprise - and to some, a huge disappointment - for a major character like Jonathan to be given an off-screen death, especially considering Terrifier's unique lack of restraint in the gore department.

Given that Terrifier 3's rather rushed third act indicates director Damien Leone almost certainly cut a lot out, it's possible there's a Jonathan death scene on the cutting room floor. But it'd be naive not to discount the possibility that Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton), ever a trickster, is trolling Sienna, and Terriifer 4 will reveal Jonathan to be alive.

As ever in the horror genre, nobody's definitely dead until we see a body, and even then, that's no guarantee in this franchise. But taking the film on its own terms with what it presents, it was certainly a death scene that caught everyone off-guard.
