10 Recent Movie Recasts That Worked Perfectly

From Ant-Man and the Wasp to Avengers: Endgame, Cassie Lang was recast because the character grew up but the actor didn't. In the case of Incredibles 2 however, the exact opposite was true for Dash, as Spencer Fox had grown 14 years between movies, while for the character it had been mere seconds.

Naturally, in this time the young boy had grown up a lot and his voice had changed, making it impossible for him to reprise his role as Dash. Instead another young man was brought into the Pixar family in Huck Milner, in what was his big screen acting debut.

Whereas Violet, Dash's sister, didn't have the same problem as her voice was provided by that of an adult actor, the younger brother was ultimately replaced without many even realising. Realistically, isn't this the best case scenario for any recast voice actor?

Dash wasn't the only character recast for the sequel, as the voice of Rick Dicker was taken over by Jonathan Banks. The original actor, Bud Luckey, sadly passed away shortly before Incredibles 2 was released in 2018, but Banks brought the same drawl as he did to Breaking Bad's Mike Ehrmantraut to make his own performance memorable.
