10 Recent Movie Reshoots That Were INSANELY Obvious

6. A Lack Of Mera, Black Manta & Batman - Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom

Where to even begin with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom?

Long before James Wan's sequel finally hit cinemas late last year, reports emerged that the project was in serious behind-the-scenes trouble, with dire test screenings causing Warner Bros. to order three rounds of reshoots in an attempt to fix it.

Watching the end result, it's firstly hilariously obvious that Amber Heard's role as Mera was substantially reduced in post-production, due to either the controversy surrounding her involvement or apparent chemistry concerns with her and lead Jason Momoa.

Elsewhere, villain Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) ends up taking a baffling backseat to generic baddie Kordax (Pilou Asbæk), and so it was little surprise to learn that Manta's role was reportedly scaled-back during reshoots and editing due to test audiences not connecting with his character.

Then there's the overall hacked-up, hurried feel to the entire movie - a clear indication of a studio worried the audience will get bored - as well as the hamfisted opening voiceover narration, and that a planned Batman cameo - first shot with Michael Keaton, then Ben Affleck - was ultimately absent.

If you take even a cursory look at this movie, you can see Warner Bros.' grubby fingerprints all over it.
