6. Emma Thompson Hated Wearing Underwear - Cruella
In another example of Emma Thompson being the people's actor, the star's most recent high profile turn as Baroness von Hellman in Cruella came with what she classed as one wholly infuriating catch; she was required to wear underwear throughout. A living nightmare, I'm sure you'll agree.
Speaking on Lorraine about her time working on the Disney feature, Thompson would confess:
“I stopped wearing underwear a long time ago, it’s not my scene. I don’t like comfortable underwear. I find comfortable underwear uncomfortable. So the underwear that was required to turn me into that shape can only be described as ‘industrial.'”
Going further, the Academy Award winner would compare the wearing of these restricting undergarments to a “torture item.” With Thompson even admitting that she finds "comfortable underwear uncomfortable", you have to imagine that just about every scene that required her to be sculpted into von Hellman shape must've been a deeply horrendous experience for the star.
No doubt a "commando clause" will be written into her future contracts going forward...
