3. The Sanderson Sisters Go To Walgreens - Hocus Pocus 2

Avatar The Way Of Water
Disney+

Hocus Pocus 2 wasn't all that good, but it certainly wasn't awful - a perfectly watchable comfort food sequel that didn't disparage the original.

But where the sequel well and truly took the piss was with its absolutely unhinged subplot devoted to advertising American pharmacy chain Walgreens.

Moments after the Sanderson sisters are resurrected, they end up following the teenagers who resurrected them, Becca (Whitney Peak) and Izzy (Belissa Escobedo), into a Walgreens.

What follows is an interminable, excruciating sequence where the Sandersons learn all about automatic doors, makeup, phones, and so on inside the Walgreens, while being outwitted by Becca and Izzy.

It goes on forever while the camerawork continually peers over at all the Walgreens signage and products, enough to make you consider just how much Disney were paid to include such egregious product placement.

And because that's not enough, the final scene even sees the young protagonists namedropping Walgreens once more, just to remind you again that it exists - in case you somehow forgot.
