10 Recent Movie Trailers That Totally Lied To You

Likely in an attempt to combat the tidal wave of negativity surrounding its release, Marvel Studios made no attempt at all to hide that Red Hulk would be appearing in Captain America: Brave New World.

Rather, they ultimately hinged most of their marketing campaign around the fact that audiences would get to see Harrison Ford's Thaddeus Ross turn into a giant red guy, implying that the supervillain would be the sequel's primary antagonist.

Yet in retrospect this was clearly Marvel mashing the panic button with total abandon, given that Red Hulk appears for only about seven minutes deep into the movie's third act.

More to the point, Ross' transformation into Red Hulk was clearly meant to be a surprising moment within the context of the story, yet because the marketing gave it away many months beforehand, audiences were basically just left impatiently waiting for the inevitable to happen.

All the same, from the trailers you'd definitely be right to assume that Ross' transformation happens much earlier in the film and he makes numerous appearances throughout as Red Hulk, rather than in a single, brief late-film sequence.
