7. Argylle
Most of the trailers for Matthew Vaughn's spy action-comedy Argylle focused on a sequence where Henry Cavill and Dua Lipa perform a sexy dance together, and the clear implication was that Cavill would be playing the titular spy - basically a consolation prize for him never winning the James Bond role.
Yet Cavill actually has less than 10 minutes of screen time in the entire movie and is playing an apparently fictional spy within the series of Argylle spy novels created by the film's real protagonist, Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard).
Though the trailers didn't hide the movie's huge ensemble cast, they absolutely led audiences to believe that it would be focused more heavily on Cavill's spy character, even though his role is really an "extended cameo" at best.
Granted, Argylle committed many worse sins than this, but given Cavill's status as an "Internet boyfriend," Apple were quite duplicitous in suggesting he had a much bigger part.
