In the past, John Leguizamo has held nothing back in espousing his disdain for Steven Seagal, stemming from Seagal's alleged dictatorial behaviour and physical abuse of him on the set of the 1996 action film Executive Decision.

And while doing the press rounds for his recent hit film The Menu, Leguizamo told anyone who would listen that he based his character - a washed-up, over-the-hill former movie star - on Seagal. In an interview with EW, he said:

"I kind of based [the character] on Steven Seagal. I had a bad run-in with him. We did a movie together. It was Executive Decision. He's kind of a horrible human."

While Leguizamo's unnamed character, hilariously credited simply as "Movie Star," skirts clear of being a caricature, knowing that Leguizamo's basically playing the part of his sworn industry enemy ensures nobody will ever watch the movie the same way again.

As revenge plots go, it's pretty delicious.
