Everyone knows that Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been best buds forever - well, since high school when they both had dreams of becoming actors.

But during a recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast to promote their new movie Air, the duo confirmed that their bond as struggling young actors was tight enough that they even shared a bank account at one point.

Affleck said the pair had an "all for one and one for all" approach, that they were in it together, pooling their money for train and airline tickets from Boston for auditions.

Damon meanwhile noted that though it was "a weird thing in retrospect," it ensured their mutual survival as they attempted to get a foothold in Hollywood. He said:

"As long as one of us had money, we knew that the power wasn't going to get shut off."

Given that the pair both secured roles in the 1992 film School Ties, won Best Original Screenplay Oscars for writing Good Will Hunting in 1998, and remain one of the most immovable Hollywood duos of the last quarter-century, it's safe to say that their loyalty to each other paid off handsomely.

Better still, recent reports indicate that due to Amazon paying massively over-the-odds to secure the rights to Air, Damon received the biggest payday of his career outside of the Bourne movies for his role in the sports drama. Nice.
