10 Recent Movies Guaranteed To Age Terribly

2. The Internship

If the references to social media in Disconnect and Chef are likely to date pretty badly in the years to come, a film based entirely around internet giants Google is bound to come across as rooted in the 2000s when viewed in years to come. It's easy to be cynical and view The Internship as one long, extended advertisement for Google, which isn't too far off the mark since that's essentially what it is. The corporate giant were totally on board with the production, while the story of two salesmen trying to adjust their careers to the digital marketplace is clearly one which will sound irrelevant to future generations for whom the digital age is something they've been born into. Corporate advertisements dressed up as comedies don't really come much more shameless than The Internship, and presumably Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn picked up substantial paychecks for their involvement. It's hardly a film which either of them should be particularly proud of.
