3. Ted
Anyone even slightly familiar with Family Guy will be aware of its creator Seth MacFarlane's penchant for laying on the references to films and other aspects of popular culture thick and fast. In fact, if you're out of the loop when it comes to what's hot in the media then chances are the jokes will go straight over your head. The same principle was certainly applied when MacFarlane wrote Ted, his first shot at directing a feature film which starred Mark Wahlberg as a man who is best friends with a talking teddy bear (voiced by MacFarlane himself in a manner resembling Family Guy's talking dog, Brian). The pop culture references in Ted come as thick and fast as any episode of Family Guy you care to mention. Ted isn't without its fair share of decent gags and following on from its huge success at the box office a sequel is predictably in the pipeline. Whether either of the films stand the test of time and remain as funny in years to come remains to be seen - older audiences may get all the references but younger ones will most likely sit scratching their heads wondering what's so funny.
