10 Recently Announced Movies That Will Probably Never Happen
2. Red Notice 2 & 3
It's already been a year since the star-studded action blockbuster Red Notice dropped on Netflix, and though it didn't exactly go over gangbusters with critics, it quickly became the streamer's most-watched film within any single 28-day period.
Netflix conceived Red Notice as a potential franchise from the outset, and following the first film's success, it was confirmed this past January that not one but two sequels are in development, with plans to shoot them back-to-back with all major cast and crew members returning.
Though in October the script for Red Notice 2 was said to be completed, there's one major hurdle standing in the way of these sequels ever getting made: its stars' schedules.
First there's Dwayne Johnson, who has plenty keeping him busy with his planned Black Adam sequel, while Ryan Reynolds is already in pre-production on Deadpool 3 and has stated a desire to spend more time with his family, and Gal Gadot has Wonder Woman 3 on the docket.
If any one of these actors' schedules doesn't accommodate Red Notice 2, it's not happening, let alone two sequels shot back-to-back, which would likely require them to be freed up for at least six months continuously.
It's incredibly easy to see all the parties being eager to star in the movies but the timing never quite working out, as continues to be the case with Johnson's still-gestating third Jumanji movie.
