10 Rejected Movie Actors Who NAILED It Second Time Around

7. Pierce Brosnan Can't Be Bond Because Of Remington Steele

The Batman
NBC

It's not uncommon for a star to have to pass up on a role due to being contractually obligated to appear in another project or due to those dreaded scheduling conflicts. But with Pierce Brosnan's NBC series by the name of Remington Steele coming to its conclusion after its fourth season, the Irish star appeared to be fully free to pursue his dream of obtaining a license to kill.

That was until his casting as 007 was made official and interest in said crime drama began to rise on the back of it. Sure enough, those in charge decided Remington Steele was worth keeping alive a little while longer, taking full advantage of a 60-day clause which allowed them to change their minds on the matter.

Despite efforts to find a way to allow Brosnan to play both his parts on the show and the upcoming The Living Daylights, however, Bond producer Albert Broccoli was having none of it and swiftly allowed a previously booked-up Timothy Dalton to step into the saddle.

Brosnan would finally get his chance to shine from Goldeneye onwards, but not before being given the boot thanks to his Remington commitments.
