10 Rejected Movie Actors Who NAILED It Second Time Around

3. Eddie Redmayne Can't Riddle His Way Into The Wizarding World

Another actor who has experienced his fair share of rejection when it comes to blockbuster projects, with the actor also being passed up on for a Star Wars role, Eddie Redmayne's eventual success inside of the Wizarding World hit a few magical speed bumps early on.

Though the Oscar-winner would ultimately win the role of Newt Scamander in the spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, his first attempt to step into the world of Harry Potter was a little less fruitful.

Jumping back almost 15 years before going full Scamander, Redmayne would reveal to Empire, "I actually auditioned to play Tom Riddle while I was at university. I properly failed and didn’t get a callback.”

Going further, Redmayne would also add that he held out hope of one day being considered for a part in the Weasley family at some stage. But it clearly just wasn't meant to be for the fumbling star.

Though clearly a little disheartened by the fact his pals "like Domhnall Gleeson and Rob Pattinson, got their Harry Potter moment, but (he) never got (his),” none of those lads ended up with their own Wizarding franchise. So, who's the real winner here?

Probably still those two...
