10 Relentlessly Morbid Films

1. A Serbian Film (2010)

Serbian Film Milos is a former mega successful hard core porn star who has quit the industry and has attained a form of respectability in the shape of a wife and son. His dream is to take his little family out of Serbia but funds are dwindling. When he is offered a lucrative hard core role in an independent film, he cannot resist the lure of the money. As filming gets under way things get very depraved, very quickly. There is a rape of a newborn baby to start things off with. Things degenerate into Milos anally raping his own son, killing people by sticking his penis into their eye socket, battery, murder, necrophilia, incest. Virtually every type of perversion is catered for. I am the Queen of the Gutter, but even I was disgusted by A Serbian Film. New born porn is just a tad bit too nasty for me to swallow, it is revolting and unnecessary but what is even more sickening is that the makers of the film dress this up as a political statement on what a terrible country Serbia is. They are attempting to defend their sick perversions with politics. I call Shenanigans! I would have had more respect for them if they had merely sat back and said "Yeah we went out on a limb to make an extreme movie" rather than blaming their nation on it. Torture porn as social commentary? I don't buy it. But yeah, I have to include it due to its extreme morbid nature. It really takes the biscuit when it comes to morbidness.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
