Briefly portraying Mary Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man pairing, Davidtz is another easily-overlooked actress who would be welcome back to Sony’s stories without being becoming a distraction.

Although the possibility exists that the Spider-Verse will include aspects of Marc Webb's universe, we can be pretty confident that Mary Parker wouldn't have made more than a flashback appearance given that it was Richard Parker, not Mary, who was discovered to be alive in a deleted scene from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Regardless, if we can accept Alfre Woodard portraying Mariah Dillard in Luke Cage and Miriam in Captain America: Civil War, we can look past any potential confusion should Davidtz and TASM series be featured in Sony's current Spider-Verse.

Who could Davidtz portray? If Sony wants to flip the script in their world, casting Davidtz as a gender-swapped Captain Georgina Stacy would be an interesting choice.

Given that we've already watched Denis Leary meet an untimely fate, Sony could take this opportunity to explore Cap. Stacy's character over multiple films and perhaps introduce Gwen's Ghost-Spider.
