10 Ridiculous Film Stories Everyone Believed (But Were Actually April Fool's)

1. Epilogue Scene Cut From The Final Harry Potter Film

Though regular cinemagoers probably didn't know or care about this prank, it nevertheless riled up the (admittedly sizeable) collective of Harry Potter fanboys, who became outraged at the suggestion from Wizarding Life that the epilogue sequence from the final Harry Potter book - in which Harry, Hermione and Ron send their own children off to Hogwarts - was going to be cut from the final film. You don't need to have read the books to realise how frustrating this would have been to fans, given that it's an essential component of bringing these characters and their story to an end, though to the same token that sort of makes it clear just how ridiculous a claim it was in the first place. Count on the reason for this prank's success being that it was targeted at Harry Potter fans who are, on the whole, quite young, partied with the fact that they're widely known as some of the most vocal and passionate fans in pop culture. Though the link sadly isn't available anymore, reading the rants on that site - and indeed, many others around the web - certainly made for a hilarious time.
