9. Ryan Reynolds To Star In Batman Reboot
WeGotThisCovered posted this April Fool last year which, given its timing being just a few months ahead of The Dark Knight Rises, was taken surprisingly seriously by the Caped Crusader's salivating fanboys. The site reported that Ryan Reynolds was going to play Bruce Wayne in a Batman reboot, with Duncan Jones directing. We all knew that the Batman saga was coming to an end and Warner were keen to reboot it, so this story gained traction all by itself; the fanboys took the bait and fell right into the trap. I don't think there's any doubting that Duncan Jones could probably direct the Hell out of a Batman film, but Ryan Reynolds as Bruce Wayne? I don't see it, like, at all. And that's exactly why I personally struggled to take it seriously. Going by the talkback on that news item, however, it's clear to see that a lot of people totally bought it. Needless to say, rage ensued.
