And finally, we come to the Harry Potter fan theory so outrageous that it doesnt just suggest a new reading of the books, but also encourages an altered perception of the real world that we actually live in. Yep, theres a fan theory out there that Hogwarts and the rest of the wizarding world are very much real. (Our Hogwarts letter must have got lost in the post.) As the theory states, J.K. Rowling is actually Rita Skeeter. She was outcast from the magical world after word got out about her embellished lie-filled writings. After falling on hard times in the muggle world, she wrote the Harry Potter books as a means to make money and turn her life around. According to the theory, Rowling still takes huge artistic licence with her writing. The only reason the Ministry Of Magic hasnt stopped her from publishing the books is because they dont think anyone will believe it. Theres one big flaw in this theory, though: If Rita Skeeter was real, and wrote a series of books featuring herself, would she really write herself as such an unlikeable character? Of course not.
