Ron Weasley is Harrys best mate. Hed do anything to protect him. Hed even, according to fan theorists, travel back in time in his old age, assume a new identity as Albus Dumbledore, and act as a mentor to young Harry throughout his school years. On the simplest level, the physical descriptions of Ron and Dumbledore are pretty much identical. In Harrys own point-of-view, from the books, he describes both characters as tall, thin, and possessing of a long nose and large hands on multiple occasions. When Harry enters Tom Riddles diary, he sees a younger pre-greyness Dumbledore with auburn (as in, ginger) hair, just like Rons. In more in-depth ways, this detailed theory buys into some very easy-to-miss clues. For instance, Dumbledore recalls in Philosopher's Stone that he lost his taste for Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans after eating a vomit flavoured bean in his youth. However, magical history tells us that Bertie Bott wouldnt be making sweets until Dumbledore was over a hundred years old. Ron, on the other hand, could have eaten them all in his youth. In fact, it sounds exactly like he kind of thing hed do. This theory is too far-out for a lot of fans to accept, and J.K. herself has denied it, but you cant deny its ambitiousness. On some small level, Im convinced by it.
