9. Muggles And Wizards Had A Massive War
The relationship between wizards and muggles in the Harry Potter series is a bit of a weird one. Pubs, toilets, phone booths and seemingly unimportant objects out in the real world are secretly linked to the magical realm, while weird political rules see magical folk having to report to muggle politicians. With wizards being the magical ones, you might expect them to live a better life, not one spent hiding in the shadows and answering to muggles. The Goblet Of Fire contains one event that really bothered one fan why does the Minister of Magic have to tell the muggle Prime Minister that he is bringing a dangerous creature (a dragon) into the country? Perhaps, as the theory goes, the wizards already had a big war with muggles before the events of the books and they lost. As a result, the government enforces strict controls on them. Spells and animagi must be registered. Powerful items like time turners must be destroyed. No one mentions it in the books, but this theory makes a lot of sense when you think about it maybe wizards really are being kept on a short leash by the muggle government, to prevent another war.
