10 Ridiculous Harry Potter Fan Theories (That Might Just Be True)

8. Dumbledore Is Death, From The Tale Of Three Brothers

The Tale Of The Three Brothers is a memorable part of The Deathly Hallows, in the books and the films. It€™s a neat way of explaining the history of The Elder Wand, and gives us some interesting food for thought regarding the ways that death can€™t be cheated. The brother who asks for the most powerful wand, is ultimately murdered for it. The second brother €“ who asked for the resurrection stone €“ soon kills himself. The final brother, who hid from death using an invisibility cloak, greets death as an old friend when he€™s good and ready. But if there€™s more to it than that? According to fan theorists, it could be more than an interesting little appendixes. The story is true, some will argue, and Dumbledore is actually Death. In the end, he greets Harry as an old friend when Potter is on the verge of death. (Remember that Kings Cross scene in the final film?) There€™s more proof to back it up, too. Voldemort has similarities with the first brother €“ notably a desire for The Elder Wand, which ultimately gets him killed. Snape never explicitly tries to resurrect Lilly Potter, but his actions throughout the series show him clinging to the memory of her, like the second brother. Let's not forget that Dumbledore possessed all three death-defying objects at one point or another, as well. This theory€™s so good, Rowling herself approves of it.
