10 Ridiculous International Movie Posters

8. Star Wars (Italy)

The Italian take on Star Wars' utterly immortal quad would be totally fine, but for the fact it's flipping terrible. The instantly recognisable original acts as as a suitable visual prelude for the unprecedented space opera, and though its hero has a touch of the He-man about him, it's nothing compared to the peninsula's poster.

The strangely seductive sibling pairing from the US edition is instead replaced by Ken and Barbie dolls of Luke and Leia, all open-shirted and suitably sexed-up. Most bizarrely, Darth Vader is barely visible, as C3PO, an effete gold robot, takes centre stage in Guerre Stellari. That's what works in Italy, apparently.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
