7. Cujo (Ghana)

1983's Cujo is a typically stomach-churning Stephen King adaptation about an evil St. Bernard, who, like the crappest rescue dog ever, traps a mother and child in a car during a heatwave in an a surprisingly complex and hitherto unheard of act of doggy spite.

The peculiar specifics of the plot don't necessarily translate to the film's poster, though the blood-dripping picket-fence spelling out the murderous pooch's name successfully conveys the theme of suburban dread.

The same cannot be said of the literature whipped up for Cujo's Ghanaian release, which despite directly and dramatically referring to him as the "The Killer Dog (!)", features a mournful, even sympathetic depiction of the titular canine. Though that's quite complex analysis beyond the clear and obvious fact it's a ludicrously long King Charles Spaniel bleeding out of its eye.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
