9. Jason Statham Enters The Fold - Fast & Furious 6
Though this was reported almost 6 months ahead of time, it still proved supremely shocking to most casual audiences - who typically will comprise a large part of the Fast and Furious franchise's audience - and made for one of the best post-credit stingers in recent film history. Clearly aware that he's onto a zinger, director Justin Lin doesn't even let the main credits get out of the way first - it's straight into this tease that brilliantly sets up the seventh and purportedly final Fast film. We cut to Tokyo and the scene of Han's death. Jason Statham emerges from his car as Han's car explodes, and Statham, who is clearly the brother of Luke Evans' Owen Shaw, gives Dominic an ominous voicemail message making it clear that the two are about to collide. Simply, if there was a better way to hype up Fast 7, I don't know how. The packed screening I attended exploded into a frenzy when Statham stepped out of the car, making it one of the year's best surprises so far.
