10 More Ridiculous Movie Star Paychecks You Won't Believe

7. Harrison Ford - K19: The Widowmaker (2002)

K19 The Widowmaker This $100 million-budgeted tale of a Soviet submarine disaster was a notorious disappointment at the box office, recouping only $65.7 million worldwide and swore director Kathryn Bigelow off big budget movies (and was also her last directorial effort before she returned with a bang with 2008's The Hurt Locker). K19 is by no means a bad movie, just a bloated and not particularly interesting one. Harrison Ford had regularly been one of the highest-paid actors in the world since the 1980s, yet K19: The Widowmaker was the single biggest paycheck the actor had received in his 30+ year career, and remained so until he raked in an eye-watering $65 million for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. At least that movie turned a profit, though. Despite only spending 20 days working on the movie, Ford was nonetheless rewarded with a $25 million salary for his efforts. That works out at $1.25 million per day, equating to the highest daily salary ratio in movie history, eclipsing Marlon Brando's overpaid cameo in 1978's Superman. As part of his deal, Ford was also entitled to 20% of the movie's profits, of which there were....none. Still, I doubt he lost any sleep over it.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
