6. Tom Hanks - Angels & Demons (2009)
Another name regularly spotted at the top of Hollywood's highest-paid list, Tom Hanks has made a very lucrative career out of being the world's favorite everyman. The Da Vinci Code, despite poor critical reception, was an absolute monster when it was released and ended up as the second-biggest movie of 2006 with a worldwide total of over $758 million. However, the man that played protagonist Robert Langdon banked even more from the sequel. Hanks is estimated to have earned at least $25 million from the first installment of the tedious franchise, and the quite frankly ridiculous success of the movie led the actor to renegotiate his profit participation deal to return for Angels & Demons. Despite actually being more enjoyable than the Da Vinci Code, the movie was nowhere near as successful and its predecessor and saw box office returns drop by over $250 million, although a total gross of over $485 million is hardly a disaster. As of yet, we have thankfully been spared another installment in the 'Tom Hanks running around Rome with questionable hair' franchise, but you can understand why the actor would be keen to return. Including his share of the profits, Hanks has earned at least $50 million from the movie and any further entries in the Robert Langdon series would see his takings from the franchise rocket to well over $100 million.
