1. Yashida's Plan Makes Zero Sense - The Wolverine
The Movie: Wolverine, the best and most bad-ass of all the X-Men, goes to Japan and fights ninjas and stuff, because somebody said that would be really cool. When he loses his healing powers, he sets out to get them back.
The Plot Hole: The bad guy In The Wolverine is a rich, elderly Japanese man called Yashida, who - more than anything - wants Wolverine's healing powers so that he can live forever. Fair enough: if you're a rich, elderly Japanese man who fancies living forever, finding Wolverine isn't a bad plan. To achieve his goals, then, Yashida decides he's going to puts Wolverine through the grinder, and... wait a second. He puts Wolverine through the grinder? Why would he do that? He needs Wolverine to be alive, doesn't he? Um, yes. For some reason, after having located Wolverine and asking him if he can have his powers (Wolverine says no), Yashida decide not to just capture him and, like, take them anyway (he had the technology), but to strip Wolverine of his powers and force him into a series of incredibly dangerous situations and fights. Did Yashida at no point realise that his plan was incredibly dumb? He continues to bring Wolverine, who he needs alive, ever closer to death, just so he can lure him to a specific location and extract his marrow? It's so convoluted it hurts.
