2. Animals Don't "Evolve" That Quickly - After Earth
The Movie: A movie so bad that even M. Night Shyamalan had his name taken off of the marketing material, After Earth tells the story of a younger, less charismatic Will Smith and Will Smith, who crash land on a post-apocalyptic Earth and must learn to survive the new, harsh terrain.
The Plot Hole: No matter what you think or feel about the theory of evolution (it's true), there's one thing you should know: it takes a long, long time for animals to evolve. Like, millions of years. It doesn't happen overnight, or even in, say, a thousand years. In After Earth, then, which is set around a thousand years after human beings have left Earth for an entirely different planet, Will Smith and his son go through a wormhole and wind up coming home. Okay. Thing is, all the animals that mankind left on Earth have apparently "evolved" to adapt to their new humanless environment. Which would be fine, I guess, had the movie not made such a massive effort to convince us that these creatures are now primed to hunt humans. How did that happens when there aren't any humans left? Also, it would have been impossible for any of the animals to have noticeably evolved in a thousand years. At all.
