4. Best Original Screenplay Goes To Her Because This Is The Quirky Category
Continuing with the words of wisdom from the 2014 voter from the public relations branch, you have the selection of Her as the winner for 2014's Best Original Screenplay. Their reason? "It'll go to Her because this is where you give an award to the quirky movie that everybody wants people to know that they appreciated." Still, at least this voter shows less conflict over the Her vote, and at least they didn't have an ulterior motive in almost not nominating Her at all: an already Oscar-winning voter of the Academy's writers branch in 2014 admitted he "almost didn't vote for out of jealousy that he is younger than me and writing the kind of movie that I would have liked to have written." Seems fair.
