10 Most Ridiculous Ways Movie Characters Cheated Death

1. Indiana Jones and the Magic Fridge - Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn't a film you'll find many people defending. When Matt Stone and Trey Parker can dedicate almost an entire episode to the character of Indiana Jones being raped by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg and seem justified in doing so, you know something went wrong. We find old Indiana Jones doddering about and commenting endlessly about his age just as every fan of the series had prayed he wouldn't. Bitterness aside, we are introduced to a plot concerning Crystal Skulls and aliens, whilst the narrative also hits us with a shocking revelation that Indiana Jones is a father. This entire riveting plot is overshadowed, however, by one of the single most ridiculous things ever to have been put to film. Jones finds himself at the infamous Nevada Test Site moments before an atomic bomb test is to be carried out. Quick Quiz: how would you survive an atomic blast? A. Hide in an underground bunker B. Ensure you didn't wander on to a live testing site C. Screw it: I'm getting in the fridge! Clearly the best course of action is C - climb into the nearest (lead-lined) refrigerator and mock every truth science has taught mankind as you harmlessly fly through the air in your invincible metal box. I imagine I was not the only person watching whose jaw dropped irreversibly to the floor. An atomic bomb proof fridge? I still can't believe that I saw it legitimately occur to this day. Just to be safe; any time I'm forced to remember it, I watch the original trilogy back to back in an attempt to erase the awful events of the fourth film from existence. Like this list?
