The Lethal Weapon films put Danny Glover together with Mel Gibson and we laugh at how mismatched they are: classic stuff. Gibson plays crazy so well it makes you wonder if he is mental off-camera as well. Spoiler alert: he is. Back to the matter at hand, anyway: at the end of Lethal Weapon II, we see Riggs (Gibson) straight up crush a guy with a cargo container before being shot from behind by Rudd, the man whose villainous power comes from his diplomatic immunity. Now, I could go on about characters surviving gunshot wounds specifically, but that would make this slightly longer than 10 entries and it isn't why this made the cut. Everyone's favourite suicidal madman Martin Riggs has made the list in a slightly different capacity. He was actually meant to die at the end of Lethal Weapon II, but everyone involved was blinded by the money blizzard a third installment would bring about so - to put it bluntly - he didn't. The character of Riggs cheated death by being a valuable commodity to the filmmakers and thus was given the chance to eventually go on and make Lethal Weapon 4, which Wikipedia classes as a 'buddy cop', 'martial arts', 'action', 'thriller' film. Something with so many genres stapled on to it can only be good, right/
