10 Ridiculously Awful Sequels To Classic Movies You Didn't Know Existed

Disney sequels are a dime a dozen these days, but we kind of expected them to shove out another Aladdin or Mulan. And we're even cool with the multiple Lion King sequels. We got a little nervous, however, when Disney unveiled a direct-to-video sequel of Lady and the Tramp in 2001. Still, it wasn't that egregious.

But what kind of monster decides to add another entry into the Bambi canon more than 50 years after the original was released??

Bambi II focuses on the years immediately following his mother's death - because why wouldn't we want to relive the single most traumatic moment of any Disney movie ever made? - and his father's reluctance to raise Bambi as a single parent. They tried really hard to modernize the relationship values here. But it only sorta works.

In terms of animated features, this sequel is akin to throwing out a direct-to-video sequel of Casablanca or A Streetcar Named Desire five decades later. It's just not a thing you should do.

Principled outrage aside, how does the sequel stack up to the original? Well, it's safe to say that this isn't destined to become must-see viewing for new generations of children, but it's also not something you should toss into the garbage bin after a single viewing. "Meh" is actually about the closest you can come to describing this thing accurately.
