10 Ridiculously Awful Sequels To Classic Movies You Didn't Know Existed

3. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie's Island Adventure

American Psycho 2
Warner Bros Television

The original Christmas Vacation represents the last moment in time that the National Lampoon's franchise - and Chevy Chase - was truly relevant. The Griswolds were in peak form, creating one of the most quotable and gut-busting holiday movies of all time.

Then 14 years later they produced this steaming turd of a cash grab centred around one of the most obnoxious characters in the history of movies.

The problem with a guy like Cousin Eddie is that he's just barely tolerable in small doses, yet the filmmakers decided he was worthy of his own spin-off. Placing Cousin Eddie front-and-centre is one of the most egregious sins the franchise has ever forced onto the unsuspecting public, and that's including National Lampoons Presents: RoboDoc.

Equally unfathomable is transporting the holiday to the South Pacific, making sure to rub an extra bit of salt into the wounds of anyone adventurous enough to give this sequel a chance. The fact they brought back the original Audrey Griswold (Dana Barron) and somehow coerced Fred Willard, Eric Idle, and friggin' Ed Asner into this mess makes this sad on so many extra levels.
