10 Ridiculously Manly Movie Characters Who Drip Machismo

9. Arnold Schwarzenegger As Col. John Matrix - Commando (1985)

Commando is one of the most ridiculous manly action movies in existence. Arnold Schwarzenegger, of course, stars as John Matrix, a retired Special Forces operative who is given a difficult choice: He can either commit a political assassination or his teenage daughter (Alyssa Milano) will be killed. Of course no one tells John Matrix what to do, so he goes on an over-the-top path of bloody revenge, leaving no bad guy alive to tell his story. Commando may not be Arnold's greatest cinematic outing but in many ways it's the quintessential Schwarzenegger movie. It gets right to the point: introduce Arnold as a tough guy with a heart of gold, add explosion-excessive action set pieces and mix in a few shameless one-liners when appropriate. Let us not forget the most memorable line of the film, after impaling a bad guy with a hot steam pipe: "Let off some steam, Bennett." The machismo is almost too much to handle.
