9. Times Square

Aside from the fact that there's an entire film pretty much set in the location - 1980's aptly-titled Times Square - Times Square is an extremely iconic location that has therefore lent itself to not just countless movie scenes, but also video games as well (it has appeared in parodic form in GTA IV, and was the stage for the finale of Battlefield 3). As is par the course for any tourist location, it is a frequent target for terrorist attacks and natural disasters in movies, having been reduced to rubble in both Knowing and Deep Impact. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5dkZyfaLtyA It was recently used in a memorable sequence at the end of Captain America, when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wakes up in the present day, completely confused, and runs out into the square, where he is met by a totally conspicuous-looking Nic Fury (Samuel L Jackson) standing in the middle of the street.

Meanwhile, a few productions have managed to change things up by presenting the Square to us like we rarely see it, empty and eerie (Vanilla Sky, I Am Legend).
