10 Rising Actors Who Could Be The Next Big Thing

4. Lily James

Born in Esher, Surrey, Lily James has been steadily heading towards the big time for a while now. Initially starting out on the stage and on British television with her supporting roles in Just William and Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, she would have a small role in the bloated sequel to the Clash Of The Titans remake, but it would be via her appearance as Lady Rose Aldridge in the major hit series Downton Abbey that she would reach true international attention. This year has seen her first significant leading role, as the title character in the live action Disney adaptation of Cinderella, which has proven a major box office and critical hit, her performance in particular being singled out for praise. Her upcoming work is fairly varied: she€™s snagged the lead in Edgar Wright€™s Baby Driver and plays Elizabeth Bennet in next year€™s highly anticipated Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, on the set of which she met her current partner Matt Smith (who you€™ll remember as The 11th Doctor, and may have seen in the new Terminator movie). Then there€™s the heavyweight: a new television adaptation of War And Peace is due next year, with James taking on the central role of Natasha Rostova, made most famous in the cinema by one Audrey Hepburn. It seems that 2016 is the year of Lily James€ you won€™t be able to move without seeing her face in a magazine or on a one-sheet.
