10. Righteous Kill
The team-up of De Niro and Pacino in Heat was a dream come true for many a film fan, and their conversation over coffee has become iconic in its own right. So when news arrived the two legends would reunite for a hard-edged cop thriller, it was only natural to feel excited. Dear God, if only wed known... Righteous Kill turned out to be a ridiculous, half-baked thriller where the very bored looking De Niro and Pacino chase a serial killer. The spark the two had in Heat is long gone, although Pacino seems to have occasional fun hamming it up. The direction is uninspired and the twist - revealing the "shocking" identity of the killer - couldnt have been more obvious if the character had it stapled to their forehead. De Niro himself looks miserable throughout; hes chubby, bored and even has to suffer the indignity of a sex scene with a younger female co-star. Watching a naked, sweaty and old of shape De Niro thrusting erotically is disturbing in ways even the director cant have intended.
